MSB söker Humanitarian Affairs Officer and Emergency Specialist
The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) is opening our roster for Humanitarian Affairs Officers and Emergency Specialists willing to be deployed at short notice to various parts of the world. A registration on our roster is initialy for three years and as registered you will continuously receive interesting international job opportunities and invitations to stimulating and valuable trainings and exercises.
Employed by the MSB on an international mission you will receive a monthly salary as well as a comprehensive allowances and benefits package, ranging from free home leave travel to access to psychosocial support.

The MSB intend to strengthen the capacity of the roster with 15 Humanitarian Affairs Officers/Emergency Specialists

A Humanitarian Affairs Officer and Emergency Specialist on a mission with MSB works primarily with humanitarian cooperation between different types of organizations eg. The UN, national authorities in the country and the affected population. The mission is largely field based and the responsibility for collaboration is important to ensure that the humanitarian work is as effective and needs-based as possible.
The Humanitarian Affairs Officer/Emergency Specialist will be expected to support monitoring, analysis and reporting on humanitarian development and emergency.
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, rehabilitation and development, of which three years of field experience in complex emergencies, including humanitarian emergency efforts.
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree) preferably in political or social science, international studies, public administration, economics, legal discipline or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area.
Fluency in English is essential, both spoken and written. A good working knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic is an asset.
Candidates must be interested in and available for missions of 6 months or longer.
You must undergo a pre-employment medical examination by a licensed physician before being contracted. You must inform your regular employer of your potential assignment with the MSB.
